House District 136

  • Incumbent: Rep. Joe Mioli (D) (website)
  • Opponent: William "Bill" Harris (R) (website)
  • Towns: Westport (part)
  • 2004 Margin of Victory: 2.77%
  • Notes:

Mioli is the most endangered Democrat in the General Assembly. He narrowly defeated a GOP incumbent (G. Kenneth Bernhard) in 2004.

Harris has been a staffer for several Republican campaigns, including Julie Belaga's 1986 gubernatorial try (Belaga, a state representative, held the 136th's seat at the time). He has never run for office himself. He is the president of a magazine publishing company, and was once an oyster fisherman.
